Are there any ways to make money selling other companys products?

Like helping to premote them on my own website and what ever sells I get a percent of the money or I got some money for helping sell other companies products. I found a site like that but I think it's phoney because it asks to pay first,is there any like that that's free. Thanks all for the help.
