Home Cinema with Car subwoofer?

Ok so I've just bought a JBL 1000w subwoofer with an rms of 250. I want to check it works and I don't have an amplifier. Would it be ok to plug it into my Samsung HT THX22 sub output to check? I know the subwoofer already in is 100watts?
