If he calls me his girl, does that mean he thinks we're exclusive?

He hasn't asked me for a commitment yet. he gets jealous when i hang with other guys. all the signs point towards us being exclusive except he hasnt asked yet, we live in different cities, and he continues to see other girls. should i just hold tight until he asks? will going on dates with other guys ruin my chances with him?
