Why isn't Latin American culture appreciated more?
First off I have no idea when you are talking about. You use past and present tense as if they were occurring at the same time, which is not only confusing but it also makes you look unintelligent. Secondly while Native Latin American cities and large parts of the population were wiped out, the population of Spaniards and and Natives (or Portuguese and Natives in Brazil) imilated. Yes some culture may have been lost but since Mexico is obviously VERY different culturally than Spain (also Brazil and Portugal), there was obviously some culture left intact. Also, there are many, many, many, studies being done showing the intelligence of the Latin Natives especially in the areas of astronomy. And while you may think that the dark ages is a good backdrop for a comparison, I think (understatement; I know) that the fall of the Roman Empire was the cause of the dark ages not because the peoples were technologically less advanced than the Aztecs or Incas. So until you can make a more organized and well thought out accusation of (who are you accusing?) then I will be disinclined to believe any of your claims.
